The TAI denotes a race of people of Mangoloid origin
who are inhabiting in the large tacts of Southeast Asia
Library & Archive
Library was started along with the establishment of the Institute of Tai Studies and Research in order to cater the academic and research needs of the research scholars, students, and local people. The library is the heart of the Institute. A well furnished Library is maintained with the collection of more than 7,000 rare books and periodicals.
A good number of books were procured to the library in the every year. The personal collection of Dr. Lila Gogoi consisting of 4000 volumes of books generously donated by family members of Dr. Lila Gogoi is a precious and priceless possession of the library.
An Archive-cum-Documentation Centre is being maintained with old manuscripts and papers. A number of 230 Tai Manuscripts have been collected for preservation and it is being enriched with new collection.
